NEWS 081 : KYOKUYO AT START OF NEW FISCAL YEAR
Like everywhere in Japan, the new fiscal-academic-corporate year kicked in on the bright and clear day of April 1!
Here, you can view all of Kyokuyo's life logs documented over the past 20+ years. This is who we are.
Like everywhere in Japan, the new fiscal-academic-corporate year kicked in on the bright and clear day of April 1!
"Seijin no hi" (Day of Adults, literally) is the Japanese coming-of-age day, held on the second Monday in January. To celebrate its employees who reaches the age of 20, Kyokuyo Shipyard presents them a gift on that day every year.
Hello again! I'm Miho Miyaji, secretary of Team Kyokuyo, the softball team we introduced to you in our news073. Today, I am very happy to report you that our team is now proven actually strong, as it won a City Softball Tournament of October 28, 2007, organized by the Shimonoseki Softball Association.
This year too, Kyokuyo hosted a golf tournament now widely known as "Kyokuyo Open" on October 10, its foundation day. As many as 145 guest and host players (in 38 groups!) gathered at Shimonoseki to celebrate the company's 65th anniversary. The sky was clear.
How do you do? I am Nagatomi, from General Affairs Division. In the shareholders' meeting of June this year, I was approved as director of the company.
Hello everybody, I am Noriyuki Fukushima. I take charge of Kyokuyo Shipyard Corporation's production division.
Hello folks, we are a group of (mostly) young sportsmen and a sportswoman working at Kyokuyo. All of us firmly share the same passion for shipbuilding and ... softball! Our squad, called "Team Kyokuyo", is powerful enough to be recognized as one of leading units in the city.
Dear customers and readers,
As you may have seen in the previous news, I have been appointed senior managing director of Kyokuyo Shipyard Corporation.
After the shareholders' meeting and board of directors' meeting held yesterday, Kyokuyo Shipyard Corporation has today announced the formation of its new management team as follows :
Hello, everybody! This time, I, Atsushi Shiga, introduce my Quality Assurance Division of Kyokuyo Shipyard Corporation. It is a compact yet highly efficient team with 4 expert members in 2 sections.
In this issue, we report on "hanami" party of Saturday March 31, planned and organized by a group of young employees of Kyokuyo Shipyard Corporation.
As our loyal readers know well, April is the month for a Japanese company to welcome newcomers fresh from college and school. This April is however an unusual April for Kyokuyo Shipyard (and general affair staff in particular), as it has received as many as 10 new recruits - number more than double compared to average year level.
On January 23, 2007, we received 38 guests from PuKyong National University (PKNU) of Korea. They are professors and students at PNKU's College of Environmental and Marine Sciences and Technology, visiting Kyokuyo and other places in Japan as part of Pusan-Shimonoseki sister-city exchange activities.
Have you read Tomomi Sano's introduction to her Material Purchasing Division in News060? Since it was received favorably, now it's my turn.
Although "Kyokuyo Open" is not a national premier golf tournament for professional golfers, it is unique match virtually "open" to everybody who has something to do with Kyokuyo, from customers, contractors, suppliers, bankers, to ... pub owners, let alone employees and employers of Kyokuyo Shipyard.
Annual milestone award celebration was held on October 5. The award is offered to the employees who have reached a specific landmark in their career - beginning with the 10th year of continuous service and subsequent 10 years increment of time.
Hi, I'm Tomomi. Today I'll leak out the most confidential information on our Material Purchasing Division of Kyokuyo Shipyard, which I'm working for.
Yes, it's April again. Cherry flowers have already come into blossom and people have started talking about "hanami" party. It's traditionally a time to welcome newcomers in Japan, where "graduation and entrance ceremonies in the shower of cherry blossom" may invoke sentimentality.
The 45th "Kyokuyo Open" golf match was held on October 11, 2005, under crisp autumn sky. This year, a record number of 125 proud players including our customers, suppliers, subcontractors and employees, gathered at Shimonoseki to win the biggest title of the industry (in my opinion)!
At the Annual Shareholders Meeting and Board of Directors Meeting held on June 27, Kyokuyo Shipyard Corporation elected and approved new board.
