NEWS 346 : IN PERFECT HARMONY
The ceremony was marked by a rare and distinguished international presence, with H.E. Mr. Walter Cohen, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Panama to Japan, representing the vessel’s flag state. We were also honored to welcome guests from Makita Corporation, manufacturer of the vessel’s main engine - making the occasion particularly meaningful.
At the naming ceremony, Mr. Hiroshi Makita, President of Makita Corporation, together with his son Kai, named the vessel GAS YIELD. This was followed by the ceremonial rope-cutting, performed in unison by Mrs. Yuri Makita and their daughter Ria, creating a memorable and warm moment for all in attendance.
For the engine builder, seeing an engine brought to life at sea is always a special milestone, and to witness that moment together as a family made it all the more significant. At the Grand Hotel, guests gathered to watch GAS YIELD pass through the Kanmon Strait, where her horn drew warm applause and delight from young Kai and Ria.
GAS YIELD is the first in our 11,000 m3 LPG carrier series to be equipped with an SCR system compliant with NOx Tier III regulations. Following GAS HOPE and GAS INFINITY, she represents our continued efforts to combine environmental performance with high propulsion efficiency.
With this delivery, the number of vessels built for Erasmus Shipinvest Group reaches seven in total, including three LPG carriers. Building on the trust we have developed with each project, Kyokuyo Shipyard will continue working closely with its partners to deliver high-quality vessels to the global market.
