Here, you can view all of Kyokuyo's life logs documented over the past 20 years. This is who we are.
For those who live in Japan, 2018 will be remembered as a year of big typhoons. With the first one, called Bolaven, being born just on the 3rd day of the year, we had already 26 typhoons so far, and 5 out of 26 had directly hit the Japanese archipelago. The typhoon can take place year-round, but its 'high season' in Japan is between August and October. It can therefore give a concern, a headache, troubles, or even actual damages to the organizing team of 'Kyokuyo Open' golf tournament, usually held in the first half of October every year.
Kyokuyo Shipyard Corporation is glad to let you know that Tetsuo Mitsui, who is leading its design team since more than a decade and known as 'father' of Kyokuyo's SSS (Semi-spherical shaped) bow, was awarded a commendation from the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.
On July 15, we had the hottest event of this.. already incredibly hot summer. It was (drumming) the 7th Shimonoseki Cutter Race ! If you still remember that the race is one of the big sport events annually hosted by our home town Shimonoseki, you probably remember also that the first ever challenge of our official boat team, "Kyokuyo Blue Stars", ended in bitter disappointment last year.
Kyokuyo has today announced the appointment of two new directors. On April 18, 4 young guys from Philippines begun working at Kyokuyo. They are interns under the Government's Technical Intern Training Program (TITP), who had completed their orientation courses - including lectures about Japanese language, business manner, traffic rules etc. - after their arrival in Japan last March.
